As part of my role I have interacted, managed and contributed to Open Source projects, partially - Rspec, Cucumber
- October 2005-January 2006 | Privately Funded Venture
I developed an idea, created a business proposal and then managed to seek out private financing. The main technical challenges in the project involved artificial intelligence (specifically Neural Networks) and image recognition. From a business perspective issues such as managing finances and managing funders expectations were dealt with.
- October 2004-October 2005 | Lastminute.com
I joined the graduate programme at Lastminute.com. Rotating around 3 departments: Dynamic Packaging, CMS and Product Entry. I worked within teams looking at areas such as customizing the Zope CMS, building a Petri net workflow systems and adding functionality to existing JBOSS services.
- February-September 2003 | Eshopworks (http://www.eshopworks.co.uk/)
I was responsible for establishing good software engineering principles in a young software company and working on research and development for their website content management system. One of the larger projects I was working on was an oil pipeline avoidance system.
- July-August 2001 | North West London Hospitals
The brief was to produce a website for the R&D department that automated a previous paper based application process. This website was challenging as the content of the site had to be compatible for disabled users, specifically blind browsers.
- July-August 2000 | Ealing Hospital
I was employed by Ealing hospital to produce a website for their R&D department. This gave me the opportunity to undertake all the roles I witnessed in my past experience of working in the web industry. This was a challenging website in which I was working on both the client side and developer side.
- July-September 2000 | Traffic Proximity (part of the Abbott Mead Vicker Group) (http://www.traffic.co.uk)
I spent this period as head of testing at Traffic. This was mainly testing on different operating systems and different browser versions. I was working on sites such as FT.com finger Olympics, Deluxe, Persil, Iwix and the Australian commonwealth bank.
- July-August 1999 | Wheel (formerly known as pres.co) http://www.wheel.co.uk
